What’s included in an initial consultation?
Your first visit is longer than a standard visit. Dr Phil takes a history, asks about your goals, and carries out a physical assessment before discussing whether chiropractic care is suitable for you. If treatment is appropriate, it may begin at this visit. X-rays are only arranged onsite when they are clinically indicated. You’re welcome to bring any X-rays or scans you already have. Read more about your first chiropractic appointment.
What does a standard consultation cost?
Follow-up visits are $89. How many visits you need varies from person to person; Dr Phil will talk through a plan with you and review it as you go.
Can I claim chiropractic on private health insurance?
Many extras policies include chiropractic. Bodyline Health has HICAPS on the spot, so you can claim your rebate at the end of the visit and only pay the gap. Rebates depend on your fund and level of cover, so check with your insurer.
Can I get a Medicare rebate for a chiropractor?
Medicare doesn’t generally cover chiropractic. If you have a chronic condition, your GP may be able to set up a care plan that includes a limited number of allied health visits with a Medicare rebate. Ask your GP whether you’re eligible.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly.
