Naturopathy

What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a form of alternative medicine that uses an array of pseudoscientific practices which are natural, non-invasive, and promotes self-healing. It is an art and science to promote healthy living and help with faster healing without drugs or chemicals. It is based on well-founded philosophy which has a proven track record of results. The ideology and treatment methods of naturopathy are largely based on vitalism and folk medicine, rather than evidence based medicine.

What does the treatment include?

Treatment usually includes nutritional medicine, dietary advice, herbal medicine and lifestyle advice. Naturopaths are able to treat both acute and chronic conditions. A naturopathic practitioner is fully skilled at treating patients with many health related problems.

Naturopathy looks at all the aspects of your general health and aims to get to the bottom of the underlying causes of your health problems, rather than just treating the symptoms. Therefore, it is one of the effective methods to treat patients suffering from acute or chronic conditions.

How Does It Work?

The goal of naturopathic medicine is to treat and help the person heal completely which includes the mind, the body, and the spirit. It also aims to heal the root causes of a particular illness not just the symptoms which often results is the recurrence of the disease. With naturopathy, patients are able to eradicate the illness completely. A certified naturopathic practitioner or doctor may spend 1 to 2 hours examining you and may ask a series of questions to assess your lifestyle and wellbeing. They ask questions about your health history, stress levels, and lifestyle habits and may also ask you to undergo some lab tests to know more.
